How we handle your data

OneChildCareRegistry is designed to create a fair childcare system with protected child profiles, clear waitlist rules, and careful handling of sensitive family data.

What we collect and why

Parent and account details

We collect basic account and profile information such as name, email, phone number, relationship to the child, and address so families can use the platform and receive updates.

Child profile details

We collect only the child details needed to operate waitlists, reduce duplicates, and keep the process fair for everyone.

Depending on the profile type, this can include the child’s name and date of birth, or for unborn children the mother’s name, expected due date, and postal code.

How we protect sensitive data

Data minimization

We collect only the information needed to create a child profile, operate waitlists, and support verification at the right stage of the process.

Encrypted handling

Account and profile data are handled through encrypted transport and managed cloud protections. Sensitive profile matching data is given extra protection through one-way hashing where appropriate.

We protect sensitive child matching data

When sensitive child profile details are used for uniqueness or verification, the system protects those values and limits their exposure. Where hashing is used, stored values cannot be read back into the original input.

How daycare verification works

At enrollment, the daycare checks the child details the family presents. The system then compares the corresponding protected values to confirm that the details match the profile on record. This helps protect the integrity of the waitlist and prevents duplicate or false profiles.

This process is part of creating a robust and fair system for all families and daycares. It is designed to support verified enrollment without exposing more information than necessary.
